We are the Pipiriki Incorporation

Nau mai, haere mai – welcome to Pipiriki.
This is the official website of the Pipiriki Incorporation, representing shareholders and descendants of this historic Māori community on the Whanganui River. We’re focused on caring for our whenua, supporting our whānau, and protecting Pipiriki’s future.

"Ko au te awa, ko te awa ko au."
"I am the river, and the river is me."

This well-known whakataukī speaks to the deep relationship between people and the Whanganui River – especially fitting, given the Whanganui River is legally recognised as a living entity with its own rights. It anchors the experience of Pipiriki in te ao Māori and reinforces the cultural and spiritual connection visitors step into.
